Translational Engineering

Translational engineering is the science that starts with an equation and ends with a technological development. This line of research seeks to support Stokes’ approach (Pasteur’s quadrant), so that every new knowledge generates a new utility. This is how innovative research is currently understood in engineering, abandoning the old paradigm of basic research versus applied sciences. It is with this leading idea that innovation acquires a central dimension.
